Set Design & Production

Bambino dell'Oro residency at OVADA warehouse

Amongst visual artist Emma Lilwall dismantling 3 pianos and multiple Bambino band rehearsals, I pottered about making the space more people friendly, atmospheric and using up discarded bits of piano keys to make a wind chime and decorations. Two mesmerizing performances over two nights. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgmZmjwoFbc&feature=youtu.be

Catweazle

From March 2012 every week to an occasional presence now, I beautified and was the doorman* for Catweazle, an open mic performance space in east Oxford. This is an open mic without a mic - where listening is as cherished as the performances themselves. Every Thursday night, East Oxford Community Centre. Go.

* I prefer doorman, said at a fast speed, to door lady/woman. Simply because I like the way it sounds.

Opera Lyrica and St Peter's College Opera

Set Designer and Stage Manager for Opera Lyrica and St Peter's College Opera. Having no opera knowledge at the start, it was wonderful to discover Mozart's most famous operas. If new to opera I recommend going to a rehearsal if possible. The quality of sound coming from one set of lungs is worth your attention.

Black Maria, Sadler's Wells Theatre.

Assistant Stage Manager for a dance version of Dianne Wynne Jone's novel 'Black Maria'. I loved (and still do) DWJ books growing up. A reference for any of her fans reading; the composer was DWJ's nephew, and looked exactly like how Chrestomanci is described. Family inspiration perhaps.. Beautifully choreographed and directed by Susie Crow.

Superheroes! Children's Discovery Centre, Stratford, London.
